After I ran the Memphis Marathon, I came back 7 days later to race a 30k. That race went very well. It seems as though I recovered faster that week than the past week and a half. I suspect it might have to do with me being happy to have avoided a DNF.

I am taking this recovery very seriously. For anything, I just need a mental break from always training. My body is tired, I can tell because sleep has not been an issue; it usually is for me; I am crashed out by 8:30 of late. I did hit gym for an easy 4 mile run @ 8:06 per mile pace on the treadmill.
