I just registered Janette and myself for Austin’s Half Marathon; I have heard nothing but great things about this race. I thought for a second about racing the full course, but then thought about how that would conflict with my Boston training. Thus, I am not racing in anything longer than 13.1 miles until April. This race will serve as a great medium long training run for me. Rumor has it that Austin’s hills are not as bad as they first appear. And, this will be another great run to prepare me for the hills of the Boston course. With that said, I have already scheduled 3 training trips down to Austin before its February 20th race. Afterwards, I hope to get in at least 3 more runs. There are no hills in Houston; it is difficult to simulate a hilly course.
